Next Level, afternoon of the incubator in review

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Last week, on June 17th, MediaGuild welcomed delegates from the government, the corporate world, a host of young startups and their incubator counterparts, among others, in the lush conference area of its monumental Pakhuis the Zwijger residence.

During the well attended afternoon, three distinct sessions dealt with the ‘climate’ for new-media entrepreneurship, a ‘pitching’ session that provided a podium to former, current and future MediaGuild projects, and ‘context’ discussion respectively, featuring representatives from other incubators, including Yes!Delft, SPACE (Amsterdam Science Park), New Venture, Dialogues House (by ABN AMRO) and of MediaGuild itself. Last Monday, the commission talked with Waag Society, MediaGuild and a number of external experts from their network to take heed of their opinion on the matter. (more…)

Project E progress: sign up as a beta tester

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

They have just opened their doors to a host of beta testers to get user feedback on their online-service, which integrates numerous social network sites at once. Or, in their own ornate wording:

“E’s online service serves as a tie-in hub for a wide array of services; existing social networking services like LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter will be integrated, as well as other services like YouTube, Flickr and offline services like payment systems and security access. E is not another social network, but an augmentation and platform of services which already exist. An open policy to development will ensure the release of an API in the future.” (more…)
